Disruptive Reflexivity in the Flux of Becoming
Natural-language exchanges become software, a three-dimensional model, and an aluminum sculpture formed by robots.
Fine ridges spread across a broad aluminum sheet and rise into a flower-like relief. The reflective surface makes the folds visible through shifting light and shadow.
The artist begins by describing aesthetic qualities, physical fabrication constraints, and the required digital file representation to an AI. An iterative exchange in natural language refines the idea, and the AI writes software that generates three-dimensional models of artworks.
A model is selected and sent to the robotic metal-working machines at Machina Labs. The sculpture is presented as it emerges from that fabrication process.
NVIDIA’s AI Art Gallery featured the work in 2025 as AI and the Anvil, with photographs and a process video from Machina Labs.
