solar powered music: you are my sunshine
A solar-powered music box plays “You Are My Sunshine” at a pace determined by the available light.
About the work
A solar panel mounted on a wooden frame is connected directly to an electric music-box mechanism. Sunlight supplies the energy to play You Are My Sunshine.
As the sun sets, the mechanism slows and the music eventually stops. The work was shown at Volta Art Fair in New York in 2014.
