A glass held against a door becomes a way to listen to other spaces.
About the work
Reben fabricated a door containing magnetic coils that excite magnets embedded in drinking glasses. Holding and moving a glass against the door reveals sounds from different spaces.
The installation reworks the familiar gesture of listening through a door into an interface for exploring remote activity.
