Engineering development for a robotic platform that assembles gigapixel panoramas from standard camera images.
About the work
GigaPan uses a standard camera on a robotic platform to capture the many images needed for a gigapixel panorama. The project was developed at NASA Ames with collaborators including Carnegie Mellon University, Google, and Charmed Labs.
As team lead for the NASA Robotics Academy group working on GigaPan, Reben helped bring prototype hardware into a final production configuration.
